NXT UP Media was founded by Rob Otey with a vision that goes beyond simply taking great photos and producing great videos.

The goal is to create a media company where clients receive professional, affordable media services while the next generation of creators gets real opportunities to learn, grow, and build their future.
 

Rob's journey in media began in the early 2000s when he created an online automotive magazine and traveled to car shows across the country capturing photography and telling stories through media. In 2020, he launched Spotlight 39, a high school football media platform that has grown over the past six years into a nationally recognized outlet covering athletes, teams, and major high school football events across the country.
 

Along the way, Rob discovered that some of the most rewarding work wasn't only creating content—it was giving young creators an opportunity to get behind the camera themselves. Through internships and hands-on experience, he has helped aspiring photographers and videographers develop their skills, build confidence, strengthen their portfolios, and gain real-world experience.
 

That vision became the foundation for NXT UP Media.

NXT UP Media combines professional media services with creator development. Our team provides photography, videography, drone media, live streaming, event coverage, sports media, family portraits, weddings, birthdays, corporate events, celebrations of life, and more.
 

But what truly makes NXT UP different is our Creator Academy model.
 

Our creators are given opportunities based on their experience and development:
 

Interns are brand-new creators who may have little or no professional experience and are ready to learn. 

Level 1 Creators have begun developing their craft and are gaining valuable real-world experience. 

Level 2 Creators have established skills and experience but are continuing to grow through larger and more challenging projects. 

Level 3 Creators are experienced professionals capable of independently handling major client bookings and productions.
 

This structure allows us to match each project with the right creator based on the client's needs, project scope, and budget, while maintaining NXT UP Media's standards for the finished product.
